Bringing Nigerian Taste Home One Ready-to-Bake Pie at a Time

Everyone loves Pastries, but not everyone loves spending time and sweating in the kitchen.  That is where we come in...

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

In the winter of 2020, Ganiyat Zurakat, founder of Gee’s Pastries, new mum, and busy professional, found herself longing for a taste of home in her new city, Ottawa. While bonding with her newborn during maternity leave, she rediscovered her passion for baking and began crafting the Nigerian-style pies she grew up with.

But these weren’t just pies; they were a time-saving solution for busy families, students, and professionals craving the flavors of home without the hassle. Made from scratch, frozen, and ready to bake, the pies quickly became a staple in kitchens across the city. Customers found the pies called “deliciously convenient,” and just like that, Gee’s Pastries was born.
